Deloris M. Teepe

Deloris M. Teepe, 86, formerly of Sumner, died Friday, January 8, 2016, at Maple Crest Manor in Fayette.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 14, 2016, at the United Methodist Church in Sumner, Iowa with Rev. Mike Christie officiating.  Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Fayette. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 13th at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Sumner and for one hour preceding services at the church on Thursday. Memorials may be directed to the family. 

Deloris Marie, daughter of Walter and Marie Lang Van Brocklin, was born June 17, 1929, near Decorah in Winneshiek County, Iowa. On April 9, 1947, she was united in marriage with Lester Teepe at West Union, Iowa. The couple made their home on an acreage east of Sumner for many years. Deloris worked from 1978 to 1993 as a C.N.A. at the Hillcrest Home in Sumner. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sumner, and enjoyed camping, fishing, tending to her flowers, dancing, but most especially, enjoyed time spent with her family.

She is survived by five children, Shirley (Carl) Howard of Evansdale, Raymond (Nell) Teepe of Enid, Oklahoma, LaVerne Teepe of Waterloo, David (Penny) Teepe of Hawkeye, and Bernadine (Rick Peterson) Fousek of Hazelton; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren; two brothers, Jack (Helen) Van Brocklin of Oelwein and Lester (Carol) Van Brocklin of Raymond; and three sisters, Donna (Gary) Brown of Independence, Pat (Larry) Brown of Guttenberg, and Helen Teepe of Laurens.

Deloris was preceded in death by her husband, Lester, who died April 13, 1995; one grandson, David Lester Teepe; one brother, Donald Van Brocklin; and four sisters, Ines Sanke, Darlene Wescott, Margaret Kauten, and Dorothy Van Brocklin.

Deloris was a very sweet and fun lady, I always loved her laugh, she will truly be miss by many.
